**domeij** {family}

as i sit down to write this, i'm not sure where to begin...

you probably never met Sergeant First Class Kristoffer Domeij. most people will go on never knowing his name. he was a heroic, selfless man, husband, father, son, and brother... who paid the ultimate sacrifice for you and me.

on October 22, 2011, SFC Domeij, on his 14th tour of duty, was killed in action by a roadside bomb in the Kandahar Providence, Afghanistan. He was 29 years old. Two other soldiers were killed along side him. 1st LT Ashley White and PFC Christopher A. Horns.

Kris Domeij was a well decorated soldier. one of which my husband had the honor to serve with. his list of awards and medals are lengthy, but his greatest accomplishment is the ones he leaves behind. his stunning wife and two beautiful daughters.

when is the last time you thanked a soldier? when is the last time you really appreciated the freedom you have? when is the last time you thought about those who gave their all so you can rest peacefully tonight in bed?

"just remember this,
i'm in a better place...
where soldiers live in peace
and angels sing amazing grace.
so lay me down
in that open field outside the edge of town.
and know my soul
is where my momma always prayed that it would go.
if you're reading this,
i'm already home."

i'm already home- tim mcgraw

please pray for this country, for those who have volunteered to protect it, and the families they leave behind. this session was booked several months ago, before kris' passing. time is short, life is unpredictable. hold on to those you love.
